SOUTHBANK BRATISLAVA MASTERPLAN
GARDENS ON THE DANUBE
Southbank City District is a natural and coherent extension of Bratislava, embedded into the landscape of the Danube, that offers a sustainable, vibrant, and healthy neighbourhood to live and work.
Open City within the Danube Landscape. Our ambition is to make a coherent new city district for Bratislava that forms a natural extension to the urban and environmental fabric of the city. A simple open block structure with clear height levels ensures the development will be rooted in its urban environment and open to future growth and change. It will be embedded in the unique landscape of the Danube riverfront where nature will be an integral part of the daily experience.

Climate Neutral and Bio-diverse. Sustainability and environmentally conscious design is an integral part of the plan. The scheme has compact, well oriented buildings with active and passive energy solutions. Stepping the buildings allows for greater density while still having a human scale and better sun and wind conditions. Integrated solar and ground source heating will help provide renewable energy. We aim to have well insulated buildings that utilise bio based and easily recyclable building components.
